Thrifty Threads - First Post Evah

We're a mom/daughter duo whose goal is to show tweens and teens that you don't have to spend a lot of money to look great. On our blog, we'll be showing name brand outfits that we mimic by shopping at thrift stores. We hope to encourage others to "shop green" and thrift whenever possible.

For this outfit the shirt was inspired by the Boden Autumn 2010 catalog.  Here is Boden's shirt at $48.
drapey jersey top in moss sprig

We paired this top with a pair of Highland Creek Chesapeake shoes and a pair of Express X2 jeans (the X2 jeans are no longer made, but we came across a new pair on ebay so we got our pricing from there)

  1. This is an awesome blog and I have always gone thrift shopping even in highschool and no one knew. Unless I felt they needed to know.

  2. I LOVE THIS IDEA!!!! I have a 12 year old step daughter that loves all the thrify finds I get for her- I always tell her how much it costs and how much money gets saved!! I also do this for my 3 & 6 yr old daughters!

  3. Thanks guys!! Rhendi, you've got a "noreply" setting so I wasn't able to respond to you via e-mail. Hopefully, you'll come back and see this one day. Here's my response to your comment:

That's really cool that your step-daughter loves it too. I'm thinking at some point, we may take submissions from our readers to showcase outfits that they've put together. Let me know if you'd be interested. You don't need a blog to do it. I'd just need photos and information on the items and how much they were.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to comment.
