It's New to Me No. 1

Welcome to our first (well, second really) addition of It's New to Me.  Each week, we will post an online outfit that we were inspired by.  Then we'll show you the outfit we thrifted.  Sometimes it will be an exact copy of the outfit and other times it will be a similar outfit.  We'll give you the rundown of the online or store pricing and then show you what we paid for our outfit.  Our goal is to show tweens and teens that you don't have to spend a lot of money to look great. We hope to encourage you to "shop green" and thrift whenever possible.

Remember, when you shop at thrift stores, you are not only helping your wallet, you're helping the environment, and nobody will be able to tell where you bought your clothes, unless you tell them

*We'd like to add that these shoes appear to have never been worn.  There is no wear on the bottom and the shoes were very clean.  We're sharing this because we realize that some people are grossed out at the thought of wearing "used" shoes.  We'd like you to know that you CAN find new or like new shoes at thrift stores.  If you are still worried about wearing "used" shoes, you should know that some shoes, like canvas sneakers can be washed in the washing machine.  For shoes that can't be washed, you can sanitize the shoes by spraying the inside with Lysol or Oust.

  2. You are an awesome mom. My mom dressed me in the most ugly clothes when I was younger because we couldn't afford the nice ones. She never shopped at Goodwill or Consignment stores. I shop for my son at consignment shops all the time for my son. We always find abercrombie, gap, and all the other popular styles. This is such a cool idea.

  4. I like this idea. Even when the tv shows did the thrifted version I always thought I could do better.
